A French-Asian Fusion in Luang Prabang, Laos (Video)

Nestled neatly between some of Southeast Asia's top travel destinations, Laos is often overlooked for Cambodia's ancient ruins, Vietnam's stunning landscapes, and Thailand's traveler-friendly beaches and islands. At the center of this cultural exploration is Laos' unique approach to cuisine. Featuring fresh ingredients and a heavy French influence, Lao food is a delicious fusion of Asian and Western flavors.

A Lao local and head chef at one of Luang Prabang's most famous restaurants, Joy learned how to cook growing up in Laos. In this video follow him as he takes visitors through Luang Prabang's famous markets and then outside of town to learn how to cook some of his restaurant's signature dishes.
