My wife and I recently returned from a two week, try-to-see-everything honeymoon to New Zealand. Subscribing to the "if you visit enough beautiful places, anyone can be a good photographer" school of picture-taking, I took too many pictures, while my wife rolled too many eyes. But we got a few good ones.
As you prepare for your own Kiwiland conquest (because who isn't preparing for that?), here are some of our top recommendations for North and South Island, in the "show me, don't tell me" school of photo-blogging. But first, an overall recommendation: the best way to cram as much as you can into two weeks in New Zealand is via campervan. We drove one on each Island: one from Maui, and one from Mighty. Campervans cover a lot more ground than you'd be able to manage shackled to hotel locations, airports or bus schedules. Plus, given New Zealand's flexible camping options, if you aim right, you can wake up right into a lot of these views.
Oh, and here was our route:)
