From now on, we hereby vow to always ask for the window seat.

A kindly Icelandair pilot took an extra lap around Bardarbunga, Iceland on Wednesday to give passengers a once-in-a-lifetime look at massive volcanic eruptions from beneath one of Iceland's most wide-spanning glaciers.

"Our pilot made an extra circle around #Bardarbunga this morning to let passengers check it out," the airline posted on Twitter. They also included a photo from an awestruck passenger.

Bardarbunga, a stratovolcano under Iceland's Vatnajokull glacier, has been experiencing a series of earthquakes over the last two weeks or so, which can lead to eruptions.

Over the weekend, authorities raised the aviation warning code to its highest level due to the eruptions, as they can make it dangerous for planes to fly. The warning level has since been lowered, and as of Sunday, all Iceland airports remained open.
