We spend a lot of time hating on airports. But while the end point may be beautiful, so is the journey that got you there. Such is the mantra of Jeffrey Milstein, a pilot who has spent days hovering over airports for his epic photo series, "Flying."
The aerial photographer has a friend take the controls in planes or helicopters when he's working on a project, so he can snap photos from above. Milstein has photographed about a dozen airports, eager to capture their often ooh-worthy layouts.
"JFK is one of my favorites," Milstein told The Huffington Post in an email. "It is so big, with so many crazy roads and monorails and taxiways and different terminals that have grown organically over years."
Can airports function as actual travel destinations? "Only for a few nutty people," he says.
Well consider us nuts, because these airports look like stunning getaways.
