Here's where the action really went down... From the exquisite lobby of the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, to the pristine beaches of Oahu's Turtle Bay Resort, to the elegant New Orleans mansion-turned hotel The Columns, these seven glamorous nooks are must-sees for all those crazed movie fans out there.

David O. Russell's film American Hustle (nominated for ten academy awards, but taking home none) follows the tale of con artist Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale), his most lovely partner-in-crime Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams), and the insufferable FBI agent, Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper), who leads the two into a world of mafia. At one point in the film, Irving and Sydney rejoice over their successes in the gilded hotel lobby of the Fairmont Copley Plaza, located in Boston's historic Copley Square. Saving Mr. Banks - The Langham Pasadena (Pasadena, CA)

Saving Mr. Banks, racking up a nomination this year for Best Original Score (Thomas Newman), tells the story of the film rights between Hollywood-sized Walt Disney and P. L. Travers, the Australian-British author of the children's book, Mary Poppins. In the film, Travers stays at the Beverly Hills Hotel, however (besides a shot of the iconic entrance), the filming actually took place at the Langham Huntington Pasadena, just nine miles from LA, under the picturesque San Gabriel Mountains. Its classic furnishings, blue-yellow curtains, rich patterns, and antique lamps give a feeling of grand European luxury in LA.

The Wolf of Wall Street, based on the true story of Jordan Belfort's rise to stockbroker riches, received five Oscar nominations this year (but took home none). In the film, Jordan proposes to his stunning Naomi in the Pool Room of the Four Seasons Restaurant. Just five blocks away lies its exquisite namesake, the Four Seasons Hotel of New York. Not only did the cast enjoy the two lushly landscaped pool areas, championship golf course, renovated accommodations, outstanding dining options, and serene wellness spa, but scenes from the film were also shot onsite -- battles from the second installment took place just feet from the resort. The North Shore boasts seven miles of white sand beaches renowned worldwide among surfers for their great waves. With onsite instruction, guests of Turtle Bay can try their hand at surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and kite surfing.

12 Years a Slave, the epic drama that tells the story of Solomon Northup, a free man who is kidnapped and sold into slavery, garnered three Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Lupita Nyong'o), and Best Adapted Screenplay. In the film, the kidnapping supposedly happens in Washington D.C., but the scene is actually shot in the heart of New Orleans at the Columns Hotel on St. Charles Ave, a stunning Italiante property built in 1883 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It originally served as the home of the owner of Hernsheim Broterhs & Co., the largest cigar manufacturer in the U.S.

Great Gatsby (and American Hustle) - The Plaza Hotel New York (New York, NY)

Nominated for two Academy Awards this year, The Great Gatsby film adaptation of the beloved JS Fitzgerald novel shows the life of millionaire playboy Jay Gatsby during the Roaring Twenties. Although all filming for the picture took place in Australia, we had to include the Plaza here because F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald were regular patrons of this iconic New York City hotel and because it provided inspiration for one of the most climactic scenes in The Great Gatsby -- where Tom confronts Gatsby about Daisy's extramarital relationship. In honor of Baz Luhrmann's film, The Plaza has created the Fitzgerald Suite -- a celebration of the Jazz Age and of Fitzgerald's life and work.

In the comedy, Last Vegas, four old dudes (Billy, Paddy, Archie, and Sam), played by Academy Award-winners Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, Robert De Niro, and Kevin Kline, celebrate Billy's wild bachelor bash in Las Vegas. During their stay in the city, the gamblers spend the night at the Aria Resort and Casino, which served as the backdrop of the film.
